After shopping Clinique happy spray, Anne Klein watch and Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 android tablet at duty free shop, Ella was sipping cappuccino coffee at the John F. Kennedy International Airport. Suddenly she got Gmail alert message in her inbox, so she opened, started reading the tech news and headline was In South Korea, an industrial robot taken life of employee
The bad
incident happened year ago, according to a Yonhap news agency story on
Wednesday, a man in South Korea was mauled to death by a robot that was handling
produce boxes, as the machine was unable to distinguish between the man and the
boxes.
At a produce
distribution center in South Gyeongsang province, the man, a 40-year-old
employee of a robotics company, was examining the robot's sensor functions.
According to
Yonhap, which quoted the authorities, the industrial robot that was moving
boxes of bell peppers and setting them on a pallet appeared to have
malfunctioned and mistakenly identified the victim for a box.
Yonhap
claimed that the man's face and chest were crushed as the robotic arm forced
his upper body up against the conveyor belt.
A
fifty-year-old South Korean man was seriously injured in March when he was
ensnared by a robot at a facility that made auto parts.
When
finished reading tech article news, Ella shared it on X (formerly twitter).
