Suddenly
Hannah Sheridan felt something strange around her, bulb atop ceiling of prison
stopped emanating light, no buzzing sound could be heard out of the generator,
the darkness around plunged into darkness, was difficult to vision mini
refrigerator, small microwave, sink, and cabinet.
The stoppage
of heating system amidst the freezing temperature a cause of concern. There was
a pin drop silence. Twenty-six-year-old Hannah couldn't understand. Was it a power
breakdown or another gimmick by barbarous psychopath who had kept her behind
bars for nothing?
What would
happen if her food stock finishes? When would psychopath pay visit to replenish
the fuel in generator and provide essential food items? He could be there any
time but he didn't showed up yet? Even the light inside security camera stopped
blinking. Hannah contemplating the situation that she never seen before.
Inside her
prison cell room, Hannah counted each day by crossing over the date written on
the wall like calendar. But for a moment, couldn't even see the date on the
wall, the darkness had prevailed everywhere. Her son, spouse, coworkers must be
in worried for her but there was nothing that she could do. When she will be
liberated? When she would reunited with her loved ones? Was there any hope but
that too was fading away with the passage of time. She wondered why hadn't heard
the barking sound of dog today? Had German shepherd released or being
forestall? Or would replace with Irish wolfhound? Or with other breed dog?
Although
Hannah had MREs (Meals Ready-to-Eat) but would be sufficient for two weeks to
survive. She had few days’ time to escape from imprisoned. The last time she
was in Michigan before being trapped but was difficult to predict where she was
now?
Hannah was
getting colder every minute, freezing temperature impacted her body, sooner it
would be difficult to walked freely on that icing floor. She was desperately
looking at the electronic keypad and lock in the metal door and praying
for.
Hannah
couldn't believe that electromagnetic pulse (EMP) engulfed everything into
darkness. She was out of her prison but deep trouble when she couldn't find any
locomotive or transport to move forward in that cold temperature so she had to
move on without resorting in coldest night of December.
Fortunately,
Hannah was not alone, accompanied with ex-soldier Liam Coleman. They find out
that EMP had disabled mobile phones, electricity, heating system, cars, trucks,
and communication system in limbo and there was only way to move forward by
foot amidst dropping temperature.
Hannah and
Liam had on the run, she was afraid, cruel psychopath would not let them to go
far away. Together, they needed to chalk out escape plan to exit from Michigan
rural area surrounded by forest before it gets too late.
