Jack Lee, a white man, who had passed the exam from Virginia State Bar and became lawyer, was from Freeman County, Virginia. Jack had seen and passed through the turbulent times of World War II and recession. When Jack decided to become defendant for his black client felt he wouldn't be able to fight against prosecutor lonely. So against unexpected, he sought another legal partner and teamed up with black women lawyer Desiree DuBose who was from Chicago. Together duo defendant lawyers, one white man and other black woman, united in the court battle racism case to prove their black client was innocent.
